    What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar chain molecule found in all skin and soft tissues throughout the body.
    How Does it Work?
Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers are a clear sterile gel injected into the skin providing instant correction by lifting and plumping up the skin. It attracts and binds water in the skin, providing volume and hydration. It comes in different thickness, the thinner ones are used for fine line and the thicker gels are used for deeper skin folds.

    Is it Safe?

Derma fillers have been used in many countries for the last 15 years with minimal adverse effects. Minor side effects like slight bleeding, bruising or swelling could occur, lasting for 2-5 days. If you are prone to cold sores you may have a breakout after treatment, this can be managed by anti-viral tablets. Very rarely, allergic reactions could occur which includes – itching, redness, swelling, hard or small bumps under the skin.

    Am I Suitable for Treatment?

The practitioner will take a detailed medical history to ensure you have no conditions that might increase risk of unwanted side effects. Consultation is also important to discuss your expectations and whether or not this treatment is able to meet them.

    Does it Hurt?

Most leading brands contain a local anesthetic and we will apply topical anesthetic cream prior to treatment to numb the skin.

    How Long will it Last?

This varies between individuals, but most will last between 6 and 8 months.
